This series helps me justify my beauty/skincare addiction. Do if for the blog, right?I’m no stranger to the beauty aisle. If you and I go to Target together, chances are you’d find me wandering the bright white aisles with five or so lipsticks in my basket (an addiction I’m trying to break). When it comes to makeup and skincare, I’ll try just about anything — from green tinted primers and clay masks to colored mascara.
Here are a handful of things I couldn’t keep my hands off of in August:
Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in “Let’s Get Naked”: The perfect nude lipstick. I told myself I’d never in a million years wear nude lipstick. I’m fair enough as it is, so concealer lips? No thanks. But this. It’s orangey pink and the formula is more hydrating than any other lipstick I’ve tried. I love it so much that I picked up a pretty red shade, too.
Supergoop! Setting Mist with Rosemary, SPF 50: I remember telling my best friend once that I had this brilliant idea that was going to make me a millionaire. I think our conversation went something like this. Me: “So, you know how you’re supposed to reapply sunscreen every two hours? Well, what do you do if you have makeup on….remove your makeup and start all over? What if there was a spray you could just spritz on over your makeup!? Why has no one thought of this?” Well, needless to say, I’m not a millionaire. Supergoop! beat me to the punch. But it’s cool, because this product is pretty great. It’s a makeup setting spray that controls oil and gives your layer of SPF a refresh.
L’Oreal True Match Foundation: I don’t even want to know how many foundations I’ve tried in my lifetime. I’d probably embarrass myself. I’ve experimented with almost every brand on drug store shelves, and I’ve even dabbled with some of the high end stuff like Chanel and Bobbi Brown. But I have to say, guys, nothing beats True Match. Its lightweight consistency sinks into the skin giving the best, natural-looking coverage. And the best part? ZERO breakouts. A major win in my book.
NYX HD Concealer: I went to Ulta once in search of the perfect concealer. Top beauty bloggers rave about the NARS one, but I just couldn’t justify spending an arm and a leg on a tiny tube of concealer (where’s the fun in that?). When the girl helping me pointed me to the NYX aisle, I was sold. This stuff compares exceptionally well to higher end versions, but for a fraction of the cost. It’s creamy, blends well and brightens up those pesky under-eye circles in a flash.
Rimmel London Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in “Noir”: The perfect black eyeliner. Nuff’ said.
What are some of the beauty/skincare products you’re loving right now?
