Fall is officially here and I don’t know about you, but I am welcoming it with open arms. I grabbed my over-the-knee boots from the depths of my closet and stocked up on Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter (if you haven’t tried it yet, you must. It’s the best).
While I will never jump on the PSL bandwagon, I am planning to incorporate fall colors into my wardrobe. Mustard is a great color for the season, and I am loving this mustard top. I have a feeling it will go with just about anything, from high-waisted jeans to a cute polka dot skirt.
I used to whine and complain about having to wear a uniform to school every day. But now? I’m all in on the uniform thing — 100% all in. Because in the summer months (or all year-round, really), I’d rather spend less time standing in front of my closet, stressing over what to wear, and more time doing important things, like hanging out with friends.
This is why I love the combination of linen and denim. Full disclosure: I traded in my jeans for shorts now that the temperature has reached 90-degrees. But these are my favorite pair I’ve ever owned and I need to tell the world. The fit is perfection. I guess that’s why they call them the “perfect summer jean.”
This outfit combination is perfect if you work in a more laid back office environment, and can easily be dressed up with colorful accessories. I’m loving bold scarves at the moment — they can be incorporated into your hairstyle, tied around your neck or your bag. Take a look at this one, this one, and this one (the color palette is my favorite).

And speaking of bags, I’m obsessed with this one. The sweet team at Hobo sent it to me and I’ve been carrying it with me everywhere since. The leather is soft and the color is perfect for summer. It can easily be carried into fall, too. I love how it looks with white, denim and everything, honestly. It’s so good.
It’s officially spring and here we are with a coat post. If you live in the Midwest, you know the struggle. Warmer weather almost always feels so close, yet so far away this time of year.
The coat I’d been wearing had seen better days, so I needed a new one to carry me through the rest of winter and the chilly first few weeks of spring. This time around, I wanted to buy myself a nice coat that would stand the test of time, instead of one that falls apart after one season.
When Tanger Outlets invited me to spend some time with them a couple weeks ago, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to find the coat I’d been searching for. I’m also so glad I waited until the end of the season, because the one I found was on major sale. AND you’re bound to find better deals at the outlets anyway (seriously, the best deals). And the Tanger team made the entire experience so enjoyable — from the delicious snacks to the thoughtful goodie bags. It was such a treat, and I can’t wait to go back. Scroll to the bottom of this post for more photos from the shopping trip! In the meantime, say hello to my little friend:

As much as I’m ready for warmer weather to be here, I won’t lie, I’m really enjoying wearing this coat. And I’m not sure I’m ready to pack her away just yet.

Thank you SO much to Tanger Outlets Columbus for sponsoring this post. I am in love with my find and can’t wait to wear it for years to come. And thank YOU for supporting the brands who make Natalie Was Here possible. You da best. It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in with you last. How are you? Anything new? I’ll be spending the night packing for our trip to NYC. We leave Thursday morning (pending the crazy snow storm), along with a bunch of our college friends, to watch Xavier play in the Big East tournament.
I love New York – there’s always something new to discover. And speaking of that, if you have any recommendations, leave them here in the comments! I’m always up for exploring.
Now, let’s talk about my favorite red blouse…
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me post about this blouse from SheIn. I’ve worn it a lot already and it’s definitely coming in my suitcase. Blouses are great for traveling – they’re so versatile and easy. I love pairing mine with jeans. Or, if I’m feeling like dressing it up a bit, I usually reach for a skirt, tights and heeled boots.

Ah, winter. Here we are. The weather in Ohio is just downright COLD, and if you live somewhere where the temps drop during this time of year, I know I’m just preaching to the choir. Nine degrees is no joke. If you have any good coat recommendations, help a girl out!
In the meantime, let’s talk about blouses. Because that’s probably why you’re here. I love to stock my closet with pretty patterned blouses to wear to work and on the weekends. So today, I rounded up some of my favorites. And an added bonus? They’re all under $100.
As much as I love dressing up for the holidays, sometimes I just want to ditch the dress and reach for a classic, comfortable combo instead. This cozy sweater was a Christmas gift from my parents, and I freakin’ LOVE it. It’s so soft and perfect for pairing with high waisted jeans like these.
I mean, it literally goes with anything and everything (like these festive heels!).
Because let’s be honest, we all have those days where we find ourselves standing in front of our fully stocked closets, feeling like we have nothing to wear. I know you’ve been there. I’ve been there, too. And that’s why classic pieces are so important. A simple black sweater like this baby can be dressed up or dressed down.
Thanks for tuning in, as always! I’m hanging out with my family in Cincinnati for another day and then it’s back to Columbus before I head to Florida on Thursday with Fritz and his family. And you better believe my trusty black sweater will find its way in my suitcase.
I can’t wait to ring in 2018 on the beach. See ya next year, snow!
