    Weekly Wrap Up Vol. 4

Tomorrow I turn the big 2-5. Quarter of a century. Halfway to 50. Not quite “over the hill,” but making my way up it. I feel like 25 is one of those milestone birthdays. It’s not as fun or as liberating as turning 21 (for obvious reasons), but I’m realizing it brings with it some other changes worth noting. And if renting cars is your thing, there’s that, too.

It’s surreal to think that I graduated from college three years ago. My friends and I woke up at the crack of dawn on graduation day and marched to Dana’s (an iconic dive bar at Xavier University) for celebratory mimosas and bloody mary’s. Now, people are getting engaged and buying houses. It’s completely normal to bring up 401(k)’s and the stock market in conversations. People run half marathons and go on golf outings.

We’re all so adult. When did this happen? I still eat Ramen Noodles on occasion, paying bills on time seems to be a never-ending struggle for me, and I set four different alarms in the morning because getting out of bed isn’t something I do best. And if I have to confess, fart jokes still make me laugh like a 13-year-old boy.

Turning 25 is a milestone, but even though I’m one year older, I’ll always be a kid at heart.

Here’s some of the links I loved this week. Enjoy! And pass the cake.

    Links I Read and Loved

    • Cyber bullying is real, and it doesn’t hurt any less than the real-life, in-person thing. It’s time to put our foot down and stop this hateful cycle. Choose kindness, always. (A Beautiful Mess)
    • 5 super easy breakfasts to make in the morning. Perfect for when I’m “scrambling” to get out the door. (SELF)
    • Emily Weiss is the ultimate #GIRLBOSS. (The Coveteur)

Hope you have the best weekend. I’m looking forward to celebrating 25 in style with the people I love most in this world. See you back here soon!

    Weekly Wrap Up Vol. 3

Ah, Friday. The weather is gorgeous, and I’ve been in full-on cleaning mode all week…well, that’s only half true. It’s more like, I’ve had good intentions of cleaning my apartment all week, but didn’t get as far as I planned (i.e. nowhere. I got nowhere).

I don’t know if you ever feel this way, but by the time I get home from work at 6 p.m., the night somehow slips away from me and before I know it, BAM, it’s 10 p.m., I still need to shower, eat dinner (because popcorn is not dinner), plan my outfit for the next day and try to go to bed at a decent hour.

It probably doesn’t help that I binge-watching Gossip Girl like it’s nobody’s business. Either way, the point is I know I have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce, but time management was never my strong suit. Working on it, guys.

    Weekly Wrap Up Vol. 2

It’s Friday, friends! And you know what that means…time to c-e-l-e-b-r-a-t-e. We made it through another week and the weekend is officially upon us. You doin’ anything fun?

I’m flying out to Denver, Colorado for a little weekend getaway with Fritz, and I’m counting down the hours til takeoff. Sidenote: I’m so happy to be with someone who loves traveling as much as I do. And who appreciates my level of crazy for flying out west on a whim for two days (seriously, who does that?). It’s what makes life more fun, you know?

Also, I’d just like to point out that I literally crammed all of my clothes for the weekend into a tiny backpack. This is a huge accomplishment for me considering I’m the girl who always likes to be prepared (a.k.a. have her entire closet with her at all times). Planning ahead is important, and choosing a color scheme for clothes so you can mix and match is the key to packing success. I think I feel another packing post coming on…

Because I have travel on the brain, it only makes sense to include some links related to just that. And you know I can’t forget about food. Hope you enjoy:

    Weekend in Photos #13

Weekends are pretty great, aren’t they? And when the sun’s involved (finally), they’re even better. I forgot what it felt like to feel it on my shoulders. Apparently my skin did, too. I’m every shade of lobster red right now, guys. Note to self: SPF 30 is no match for the Hawaiian sun. Like, it failed miserably. If you have any tricks for sunburns, I’m all ears! My bottle of aloe vera is draining fast.

DSC_0693But sunburn aside, Honolulu is seriously beautiful. We’ve been taking full advantage of all the fresh fish and bluer than blue waters.

DSC_0660IMG_9577_editedIMG_9600_editedDSC_0688DSC_0721_editedOn Saturday, we drove to Pearl Harbor. It’s a place I’ve wanted to travel to for as long as I can remember. The memorial, located above the sunken USS Arizona, is a tribute to its 1,177 fallen officers and crewmen, and all others who lost their lives on Dec. 7, 1941. If you find yourself in Hawaii, I’d highly recommend visiting. DSC_0730_edited

Pearl Harbor is a place I've wanted to travel to for as long as I can remember. If you find yourself in Hawaii, I'd highly recommend visiting. ❤️

We leave Honolulu tomorrow for Maui where we’ll stay the rest of our trip. I’m so excited (and I just can’t hide it). Follow along on Insta and Snapchat (nataliefolchi) for daily happenin’s! We’re attempting to learn how to operate the GoPro…need to brush up on my (non-existant) video skills, stat.

How was your weekend?! Anything crazy or noteworthy? You know I love a good story. Spill.

    Weekly Wrap Up Vol. 1

I traded my desk chair for a beach towel, my high heels for snorkeling flippers and my three-story office for a tree canopy. Until 10 days from now, Ohio — we’re Hawaii bound!

If you’re reading this, I’m currently cruising 35,000 feet over the Pacific Ocean (and trying not to freak out). Chances are, there’s a glass of Bloody Mary mix chillin’ on my tray table and a bag of pretzels nearby. Vodka may or may not be involved.

This weekly feature is new to the blog, and it’s one I’ve been wanting to do for quiet some time. I’m constantly reading inspiring articles from across the interwebs, and some are just too good not to share. I hope you enjoy.

    Things I Read and Loved

    • Your twenties are a tough time. It’s easy to stress over the future. Moving forward into the unknown can be a scary venture, one that makes us feel vulnerable. This really helps to put things into perspective.
    • Where my ladies at? Let’s get real for a second. Why do we feel like we need to apologize for every. little. thing? I’ll be the first to admit that I’m guilty of this. I say I’m sorry to the woman who bumps into me. I apologize to my co-worker for taking the last donut in the break room. It’s this terrible habit I’m trying to break. I’m relieved to know I’m not alone. Now, let’s try and kick “sorry” to the curb. Unless we have a good reason to be, of course.
    • Living in the present is something I’m really trying to work on. These tips are just what I needed.
    • If you’re a blogger, you should totally sign up for Jess’s weekly column, “Ask Jess.” Her blogging advice is extremely helpful, and reading her tips feels like talking to an old friend.

Things I Liked That My Wallet Didn’t

    • This top is s’cute. Seriously, trying to restrain myself. Someone send help.
    • Yay or nay to bucket bags? I’m definitely feelin’ the trend. This one looks expensive, but the good thing (in this case) is looks can be deceiving.
    • Yep, I’ll be bathing myself in this stuff for the next 10 days. Not mad about it.
    • We’re going to a pineapple farm while we’re in Hawaii. These pineapple sunnies would have been perfect had I planned ahead.

Is there something you stumbled upon this week that you want to share? Share the link in the comments! Also, if you’ve been to Hawaii and have any recommendations for things to do/places to go, help a girl out.

Hope you guys have the best weekend. I’ll see you back here on Monday! In the meantime, let’s hang on Instagram.

    Weekend in Photos #12

IMG_9520America sure knows how to throw one hell of a birthday party — a three day affair that usually involves a boatload of sunshine, a few cold beers, a hot grill and the best group of friends and family. Shoes are optional, bathing suits are recommended and like your first kiss with some boy you met at summer camp, you’re bound to see fireworks.

This weekend was perfect, and that’s all there really is to it.

Fritz’s parents hosted their annual Fourth of July party on Thursday, and I was so happy my parents drove up from Cincinnati to hang out with everyone and spend the night. My mom whipped up some brie appetizer that I will definitely be sharing on the blog soon. It was insane. She literally got out of the car after a two hour drive, threw it together in about 60 seconds, and the finished product looked better than most of my pins on Pinterest. Mom, I don’t know how you do it.

I invited friends over to my apartment Friday and spent Saturday and Sunday on the shores of Lake Erie. We boated, I got a little too sunburnt, ate my body weight in Toft’s ice cream, stayed up late, slept in, and was reminded why I love the summer months so, so much.

How was your weekend? I hope you all had the best time celebrating!

P.S. – I didn’t take as many pictures as I’d planned (#bloggerfail). I’ll blame it on the watermelon. Put a plate full in front of me, and don’t expect me to accomplish much. Well, aside from the eating, because I’ll definitely take care of that agenda item.

P.S.S. – if you’re new to the blog, my Weekend in Photos series is exactly what it sounds like…a recap of my weekend shenanigans from the lens of my trusty sidekick — my Nikon D3200. To view past weekend in photos posts, click here.
